Civil Engineer

Job Description

CSR Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join one of our Tennessee office locations: Pleasant View or Shelbyville (possibly Lebanon). In this Civil Engineer position, you will play a key role in designing, planning, and managing various Civil Engineering projects across the State of Tennessee and beyond.

Required Education/Experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE) with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 10-15 years of experience designing and developing plans and specifications for all aspects of civil/site design and land development projects
  • Strong expertise in erosion control, stormwater management, grading, and drainage design
  • Excellent communication and client-facing capabilities with a passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers and designers/technicians
  • Available to work as Project Engineer (30%) and lead other staff as Project Manager (70%)
  • Currently located in Tennessee and near at least one CSR office location

Preferences will be given to candidates with

  • Experience in civil/site design and land development (10-15 years)
  • PE licenses in other states
  • Experience with both private and public projects (industrial, commercial, residential, and municipal/state)
  • Additional background in Water/Wastewater public utility based engineering design
  • Field experience in construction, and survey experience

Qualifications/Skills needed

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Suite, and other industry-standard tools
  • Familiarity with local/state/federal permits involved in civil projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and layout of site plans, including grading, drainage, and utility systems, while adhering to regulatory requirements and project specifications.
  • Ensure project designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning ordinances, environmental regulations, and building codes.
  • Design and oversee the installation of utility systems, such as water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater management, to support site development and functionality.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, and contractors, to coordinate project requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Assist in project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication, to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (based on experience and licensure)
