Job Description

CSR Engineering is a leading engineering firm specializing in infrastructure development and maintenance projects. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bridge Inspector to join our team. As a Bridge Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of bridges and structures, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct regular inspections of bridges, viaducts, and other transportation structures to assess their condition and identify any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
2. Follow established inspection procedures and safety protocols to ensure thorough and accurate assessments.
3. Document inspection findings, including photographs, sketches, and detailed notes, to create comprehensive inspection reports.
4. Evaluate the structural stability and load-carrying capacity of bridges to determine their fitness for public use and suggest necessary repairs or improvements.
5. Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze inspection data and contribute to the development of repair and maintenance plans.
6. Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to bridge inspection and maintenance.
7. Interact with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to communicate inspection results and recommendations clearly and professionally.
8. Assist in training junior inspectors and provide guidance on inspection techniques and safety procedures.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience in bridge inspection and evaluation, with at least 5 years of relevant work in the field.
3. Knowledge of bridge design, construction techniques, and materials.
4. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to bridge inspection, such as AASHTO, FHWA, and state-specific guidelines.
5. Certification as a Bridge Inspector by a recognized authority is preferred.
6. Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment, including drones, laser measuring devices, and various testing instruments.
7. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate data collection and reporting.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
9. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
10. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
